THE SMALL REPLICA OF OLD RUNIC STONE

Grey granite, 9’’X 8’’X3’’, by Ira Kessey. Kessey, Ira Artist Ira Kessey lives and works in California, but devotes his time to study his Norwegian heritage, specifically – the history of Runic stones. This Runic stone (found in the Denmark town) was erected by Viking king Harald Bluetooth, son of Gorm the Old. King Harald erected this monument in memory of Gorm, his father, and Thyra, his mother; that same Harald who subdued all Denmark and Norway, and governed the Danes to Christianity.
